Bilingual Perspectives
“Bilingual Perspectives” is a 3-dimensional bilingual Arabic and English interactive alphabet created for the colloquial Emirati. The alphabet application uses the Leap Motion to read hand gestures in order to control the viewing perspectives. It was programmed using Processing and was designed based on Palatino Sans Arabic. The project examines the possibilities of an Arabish script that is bilingual in its nature but singular in its execution. To support both languages, the letterforms were designed in a multi-angular manner allowing the reading of the Arabic and its English equivalent from different perspectives.
